Crazy Elmer sell Anthony Slater Autographed Photo - Vintage Hobo Clown Entertainer - Jamboree Singer

I recently acquired a box of old publicity headshots from the 1940's and 50's. Some of these photos were signed - All addressed to "Joe and Francis." This 8" x 10" black and white photo was included in that bunch.

Crazy Elmer was the stage name for Anthony Slater, who also went by a second stage name - Smiley Sutter. Crazy Elmer was a pretty well known entertainer back in the day, especially at the Jamborees in the South (West Virginia). It seems he was a jack of all trades, as he sang, told jokes, etc.

I do not have any authenticity to verify this signature, however I can tell you that this picture came from the original owners estate, which as I before mentioned, had other photos signed by celebrities of the era - all personalized to the couple. The condition of the photo is good, as there are no tears and minimal sell damage from years of storage. This was in a scrap book at one time, if you notice the place tabs on each side of the photo. I have included close ups of these in the listing pictures.
