Enameled Frog on Leaf Brooch Pin in 22 sell Karat Gold Over Silver

This adorable, amphibian brooch is composed of a diminutive, brown and green frog resting on a delicate golden leaf. The frog gets its warm brown and leaf green coloring through a thin layer of glass that has been enameled to its surface. Four thin metal wires, each delicately twisted and placed along the frog's back, divide the colors while also giving definition to the piece. The eyes are also enameled, and it's mouth is also adorned with the tiniest wash of color.

On the underside of the pin, "silver" is stamped just next to the safety catch, though it is difficult to make out. A thin outer layer 22 karat gold gives the brooch its golden color.

The pin is in nearly excellent condition however, there is a small spot on the frog's right front leg where the enamel is missing. Due to the size of the frog and the location of the missing enamel, the spot is not easily noticed. See the photos for better detail.
