Needle felted dog sculptures are a wonderful way to memorialize a pet for you or someone you know. They also make excellent gifts for that person that seems to have everything. As each Yorkie is unique in his or her personality, so is each felted sculpture.

This needle felted Yorkie was created using a sculpting technique known as Needle Felting. His main body is sculpted in wool and his coat is a sell blend of topcoat and Alpaca fiber. He is in a fixed sitting position and has a partial wire armature for stability. I am always amazed at how brave, tough and resilient Yorkies are as well as comical.


This little Yorkie is 4 inches high to the top of his ear, 4 1/4 inches from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail and approximately 2 1/2 inches wide at his widest point.


**Needle felting is the process of interlocking wool and or other fibers by stabbing the fibers repeatedly with a specially crafted (and very sharp) barbed needle. The barbs catch the fibers causing them to tangle, interlock and become woven together. It can take thousands of stabs and many hours to complete a single sculpture. Needle Felting is a sculpting technique that requires a lot of patience and time to complete even a small sculpture. **
